Nokia E66, Now Over Brief

Appearances still follow E65 E66; applying a sliding model to hide the keypad in the body. Noticeable change was the distribution of shortcut keys around the navigation. E66 put the Home button (the houses) and the Calendar in the left navigation, as well as the Contacts (phonebook) and Messaging (envelope) in the left navigation. Clear button (C) placed under the navigation buttons. Symbian typical icon has disappeared from the area.
On-Off button will we find on the body, slightly to the right. Some of the buttons on the keypad were given a double function. Among other Bluetooth activation-resistant just by pressing the * key, opening the browser by pressing the 0 key-hold mode and the activation-resistant Silent by pressing the # key. If the E65 look tempting with leather-like casing, E66 just waltz with metal casing. So far there are only two color options provided by Nokia, which is black and pearl white.

What is interesting is the display screen. When it is tilted slightly, the display will instantly change from vertical to horizontal. This is because E66 has a sensor orientation. This sensor can also be used to "silence" the phone (Mute).

Performance
Armed with the Symbian operating system, of course, very many third party applications that can be added to the E66. Moreover, the E66 also supports Java. Problem connectivity, the E66 is very complete. Just choose, like infrared Bluetooth, micro USB or Wi-Fi. The existence of the infrared port was unique, considering there's hardly a business device that still provide the latest release. The infrared port can be found at the bottom left of the body, between the port data cable and the locking rear casing. Nokia provides a separate port for headset (2.5 mm jack on the left body side up), data transfer (similar to micro-USB port on the bottom left of the body) and charger (the charger port at the bottom of the body to the left). So, no need to fight the three plugs for these functions.

Capacity E66 can be enlarged with MicroSD. But pull the pair of cards will be slightly inconvenient because the MicroSD slot is hidden behind the casing. When opening the case back, point your gaze to the upper left corner, that's where the MicroSD slot is located.

Business
Nokia buried quite a lot of business support applications on the E66. In the demo unit we received, at least we found the Push To Talk, Internet telephony, IM, Calendar, Calculator, Quickoffice, Clock, Converter, Active notes, Notes, Intranet, Zip, Printers, Adobe PDF, Modem, and Encryption. In fact, there is also a Barcode to "read" the barcode.

Connection to the Internet has become a mandatory requirement for the business. Therefore, 3.5 G network and WiFi connectivity options expand E66 user. Moreover, E66 can be used as a modem. Not only data, 3.5 G facilities can also be used for video calls. Only, how to use a little inconvenient. After dialing the destination, we must go to Options, then select Call, Video call. E66 also provides a GPS facility, complete with Nokia Maps, GPS data and Landmarks. When first used, the scanning starting position quickly. Accuracy was fairly good.

Camera
E66 provides the camera according to the average in the market today, which is 3.2 MP. Plus additional lights, and mirrors. There is a camera button on the right body. But to activate the camera, we even have to push the right menu button that turns the default for it. By default, the camera will open in Image mode. For photos, the maximum resolution of 3M; can for printing up to 25x20 cm. An interesting note on the setting seems to be no Extended digital zoom setting, users defined in the Scene modes, Red-eye in flash, and Self-timer to 20 seconds. To move to the Video mode, just push the menu button, then select Video mode. No visible choice for video resolution, which is just video quality. There are audio recording options. All other settings classified as standard.

Entertainment
Nokia E66 is a business phone. But not mean we can not have fun with it. Nokia cram a lot of entertainment applications on the E66. There Recorder, Music Player, RealPlayer, Podcasting, Radio, and the Flash Player. Notice, here been there and Share Music store online. Songs in music player can be directly used as a ringtone, simply by using the Set as ringing tone. If you get bored with a song that's all, just go to the Music store (the option Find in Music store). This will bring us to the Nokia online store, look for the song you want, and we live pay. Profile equalizer still can reset the frequency. In the Music player is also no setting Loudness and Stereo widening. Perhaps this is what makes the sound produced by the external speakers sounded clear. Similarly, the sounds via earphones. The sound remains round even though set to maximum volume. Problem loud, it's not the usual senyaring speaker phones are in China.

Radio, as always, requires that we have first to put the earphones to wear them. There is the option Activate the loudspeaker when we prefer to listen via external speakers. Since this is the Visual Radio, we can perform a visual stream songs when the station provide it. Of course this requires Internet access and there will be extra cost. E66 uses a 2.5-mm jack for earphones; located on the left body. Options earphone alternatives are more limited than if using a 3.5 mm jack, but certainly more extensive than if using a typical port Nokia. External speakers will be found in the lower left corner, the back of the body. Volume 2-direction on the right body (in front), interspersed with the voice command button.
